Straight from Fashion's front row TONI&GUY report on the hottest hair trends set to emerge for Spring/ Summer 2012.....
In contract to preened, pristine Autumn/ Winter styles - Spring/ Summer hair is all about under-played glamour: stripping back to natural beauty with soft textures and loose styles. Utilising and encouraging subtle yet natural looking movement in the hair is the key for that enviable 'wash and go' finish. Think LA air-dired surf hair meets Chloe Sevigny.
This look is seen at the shows of: Giles, Izmaylova and House of Evolution.
Must have product: label.m Volume Foam and label.m Sea Salt Spray
Backstage trend tip:
International Artistic Director Indira Schauwecker created the surf-chic style at Giles by spraying damp hair with label.m Sea Salt Spray and twist into a bun securing with a pin or elastic. Leave in untill you're about to work/ party/ date and unravel to reveal soft subtle waves.
Following suit for natural simplistic styles - This season the up-do took this to an almost purtanical height. Hair emulated school worn styles - some pristine as if captured when schoolgirls leave the house and others lived in and undone - come home time when the bell rings. Distressed Fishtail plaits are braided into half pulled out ponytails and Prep School partial ponytails are polished and preened.
This look is seen at the shows of: Todd Lynn, Jean Pierre Braganza, Eudon Choi and Jacob Kimmi
Must have product: label.m Volume Mousse, label.m Hairspray, label.m Shine Spray and label.m Resurrection Style Dust
Backstage trend tip:
International Artistic Director Cos Sakkas gave the school girl pony a grown-up twist at Todd Lynn by adding two silver pins to create an orb like shape with the section of hair between.
